I have decks etc and would like to record some mixes, but my problem is that there is a 2 storey distance between my dekz and comp. There is not enuff room to fit them in the same room, therefore I would like to rig up some way of recording it from a distance. Does anyone know where i can get some long ass cables or transmitters/recievers from to do this. Preferable from the UK, I have seen the ones on mp3.com and was wondering if there are any others. If somebody has done this ur advice would be helpful, so if anybody has any reccomendations please post here.
How long was it, cos i have to curl mine up two flights of stairs. Plus will i need a booster or anything like that?

Gratuitous use of minidiscs comes readily to mind. That's all I use for recording my sets.

Minidisc is better than cd-r dex. CD-R decks burn as they go, there's no going back if you fuck up, whereas Minidiscs can be re-written over and over again.
I used to have the same problem, so i recorded to my minidisc deck, and then mooved that into the room with my computer and then went through sound forge and onto cd

Minidisc recorders are also much smaller and more portable.

Longest RCA cables I've seen are 10m long. I suggest you buy a minidisc. It also means that you can record your live sets at the clubs too.

im also a fan of my MD recorder.. the only bitch is recording it from minidisc to computer.. also, when im lucky enough to record from my friends djm600 which has a digital optical output, i get to connect this optic cable to my MD and get some clean digital sound.. sucks tho cos i got my MD from Japan because at the time, none of the US MD's had digital inputs but i don't know about now since they have the netMD and im not sure if that has optical inputs or not.. anyhow so i get my MD from japan specifically because that model had digital inputs and then i realize that my computer does NOT have digital inputs so i loose the digital signal in my transfer to the computer anyhow.. doesn't matter, i don't think u can tell the difference anyways unless u analyze the signal w/ a computer.. so the moral of this story is get a MD, or just get a 10ft cable and leave ur computer on the stairs or in the doorway while u record to ur comp.. but i suggest the MD, u won't regret it.
