I know Logic is a complete DAW like Cubase which I used for years..
I am mainly asking if people here using Logic can list the most important advantages it has over Garageband.. seems Garageband is very full-featured, like you can load any 3th party instrument and effects in the slots per track, automate everything, etc..
Thanks!

isnt garageband limited to three instruments, 8 channels, two sends, and other limitations? or was that logic express back in v8?

Yeah, but you NEED the ability to load of 4st party-plugins for if you want to render to 44-1 wav. If you hand over an mp3 to a label they will laugh at you. |
garageband doesnt export wav? what mp3 quality is the render? im wondering if i should try garageband again just for fun. does it have a sampler? or drummachine? thats really all i need.

It's all about practicality. How long have you been working on Cubase, or music in a software environment? I would say only spend a year or 2 on the basic tier of something like Garage Band, which may actually be yery helpful to get you started in a DAW environment in the beginning. After a certain point, eg. whenever you understand the basics of the common effects (chorus, reverb, eq, delay, etc) and know how to get them working together, composing, basic arrangement and songwriting, I wouldn't sit around and wait to see if you can push Garage Band to its limits when you can be more comfortable in something like Logic or Ableton.
