custom Automat skins (1.01 Mac AU)
So my new hobby is designing custom skins for alphakanal's Automat synth. Installation instructions are at the bottom of the page. I'll probably be updating frequently as this is my new favorite thing. I don't know why but I REALLY enjoy doing this... if I knew shit about code I would design my own synth
also these look better on screen than they do here imgur kinda washes out the color

Installation instructions:
first download and install the synth from http://www.alphakanal.de/ and run the 'install.command' file. In addition to the AU component it also installs the Automat font and a directory for samples, tunings and presets. If you already have Automat installed simply replace the AU component.
The default Automat install location is:
/user/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Automat1.component
(note: most audio units install to the system directory, not the user directory)
A note about customizing:
It is very easy to change the text and knob arc colors yourself using TextEdit. The grayscale skins provided are a good starting point and will probably look okay with any color. Simply right click on the Automat1.component and select 'show package contents' then Contents->Resources. There are 3 folders. In each of these folders there is an 'objects.xib' file. Open them with TextEdit.
For the grayscale skins I used the color "d7d7d7". So just command F in TextEdit and do a find/replace for "d7d7d7" (without quotes or spaces) with any color you want. Save. You can use a thing like http://www.colorpicker.com/ to get the color value if you don't have photoshop or whatever
