watched the whole thing. great documentary. nothing i really didn't already know about the culture having always been interested in it's history, but i just love the feeling watching stuff like this evokes. makes me feel like let's all take a step back from our bickering about music and just be grateful to be having a good time at a party.

Lovely documentary, put a big smile on my face at several different moments. If you want a crash course in the history of dance music in 90 minutes, this is the place to start. Makes me proud to be British as well. Records like Jack Your Body, Pump Up The Volume and Charly topped the UK charts and sold hundreds of thousands of copies with no mainstream radio play and no major label support. If there's any country in the world where underground culture can gain mass support free of corporate control and influence, it's ours.

For a more factual, in-depth history of the music, it's also worth checking out another Channel 4 documentary:

I have not watched the video yet, however...

I do agree. The UK are definitely some people to be respected. The Dutch too!

The UK has some of the finest musical artists and movements. You guys got all the EDM creativity over there; Tijs' classic production crew, Ferry Corsten, Paul Van Dyk, Cosmic Baby, L.S.G., Sasha & Digweed, etc...

Then you guys got The Beatles, Radiohead, Muse, who are notoriously successful.

I mean, we Americans got some talent, but honestly EDM, Trance mainly, played a huge role in my life. So thank you Europe!
