Golsti - R4V3 [House]

I am really focusing my efforts on one style right now, which is the 'house' style of Tiesto, Guetta, Avicii, ect. My biggest problem now is creating different parts of a song with different instruments and then the transitions between the different parts. Any feedback is always appreciated.

This could be a real epic banger with more work. I think presently it's a bit to linear with many elements focused on the quarter note, I think this focus on the quarter note works well sparingly as an indicator that you are reaching a crescendo. The hats could certainly use a bit more movement swing/groove/syncopation.

It is really hard to judge this short piece of your production but at lease I can definitely hear some cool idea is start to developing right in there.

It would be really interesting to see what you can do with it next???

Quite nice WIP !!!!

Cheers,

Darek

Actually the piano part is the breakdown and the second part is the climax. So other than repeating both of them again all I need is the intro and outro. I am concerned about the piano. Does the synth and the way I have processed it sound OK?

I don't think you are going for same Electro sounding style but rather more popular dance/pop production - is this true????

Sound simple but cool enough to be a base for farther melodic development but definitely you need to spice up this later on with additional either sounds or some fancy FX throw all along this track .... or maybe even some female vocal could be added to it - your imagination is only your limit !!!!

Cheers,

Darek

Correct- I am going for commercial house/pop not electro.

I am holding off on tackling vocals right now. I want to get my production skills really strong before I take on that aspect.

Thanks for the review, I am going to add more, however, the focus of the song is the piano and then the massive house riff.

Like the piano and the way you do the drums - very festival feeling. You always get a good verb on the snare - what are u using?

The rave synth part is good, but not as good as you could make it - you know what I mean by that? I've been working on a similar layer recently and keep starting over as the sound isn't good enough. Now to be specific I don't like the verb on that synth part - it's too unspecial. You need something more real sounding, not just a wash of static verb. It would need to have pre delay and bounce around. Then the synth sound itself as I say could be better - I say this to you as I know like me your'e a terrible perfectionist, so I want to push you on! I like the way that mid bass sits in that synth part.

So this has good potential if you can realise the correct sounds which as I know only to well is really very hard to do as I feel I too want to get my synth layers better sounding.

This has great potential. While I'm trying to stay away from subjective feedback, I have to admit I like the second part of the track much better than the first. I do like the melody the piano is playing, but I couldn't discern any groove during the section it's playing in. That said, it does set up the second part nicely enough. Keep cracking at this. In spite of my criticism, it really isn't bad, and I'd definitely like to hear another version or two as you bring this project to completion.

Thanks for the criticism. I have my intro/outro now and I am going to try to post the full rough draft later today. I agree on the piano, I like what it is playing but I am afraid it sounds amateurish without further development.

I know what you are saying about the piano. But, I don't know how to change it. Also, in some ways I like the way it is. As for the hats there actually is only a ride cymbal, but I shortened it some.

I still have a lot of editing to do, but now I have basically the outline for the whole song. I have already clocked over 26 hours of actually work (fl studio keeps a timer and only counts when you are actively working on it) on it :O :O :O
