Jester Tiesto on Nickelodeon

For some reason my friend was watching Nickelodeon today, and this show "Slime Time Live" was on...during the show they played "Urban Train"...I still find it hard to believe. He's swears it's true though

The scene here is offically fucked

Yes, but come on here...this is Nickelodeon...that's pretty bad. I mean the local radio stations here don't even play a song close to as good as that.

Question

Yap, i know this is besides the point, but in one commercial down here they have flight 643, and on a sony commercial le'esperanza... kind of wierd... but anyways, you hear that shit all over the place down here, in restaurants sometimes, and other places, ...electronic music has really grown in the past two years in panama..

Jester

Why was I expecting this to be about a new show called "Mr. Verwest's Neighbourhood"?

And personally, I see no problem with using Tiesto music for the background on Nick, start em young

well that seems to prove my point I've been thinking for a long time and was searching for more ways to prove it : Tiesto has the most coverage in the usa compared to other djs , well maybe not with Oakenfold , but look at it seriously , his records are in a lot of stores, and well go to Hot Topic who seels shitty records or cheese most of the time and they also sell Tiesto ( or is that also part of the shitty records and cheese ? j/k )

for the information that none will care about : Moby was on PBS the other night giving an interview for the release of his new album , and they even put blits of his video clips ( yeah they also put the one where lesbians kiss, or is that Moby and some hot chick ??? I'm confused, I'm not saying that jokingly even if it sounds sarcasctic )

he talked about how he was evolving in music, and his success for Moby play was bigger then he would have ever expected ( damm that's from 95 and he managed to pop that info in there )

moby is becoming like grandpa talking about his younger days when he was poor, had to walk 15 miles in the snow against the wind just to school and he had to do it bare foot cause they were to poor to buy shoes back then , and then he discovered a piano in one of his classrooms , it hadn't been used in years, completely out of tune, and today HE USES IT IN HIS OWN RECORDS ( damm...... no wonder his singing is so off key and he has to hire people for singing on most of his tracks )

that was ...

totally off the subject

Hey, Hot Topic might sell shite, but they also sell some quality stuff as well...I found a nice Flutlicht "Icarus" import the last time I visited the HT in Kalamazoo!

If anything I'd say that Tiesto is starting to get North American exposure because he's got his stuff available domestically with the entire Magik series being available, and the "In My Memory" being licensed out to Nettwerk, a Canadian label which also distributes in the States.

I'd say that no one has exposure matching Moby though, people are dimly aware of Oakenfold, and even less so of Tiesto, but everyone knows the bald guy...

Nickelodeon is owned by MTV (or at least they are both owned by the same company)...MTV has been using 'urban train' as well as 'we are alive' as background music on some of its shows. I've heard both used as background music on TRL, yes...very sad. Anyway, so it makes sense why it would be used as background music on Nickelodeon. No, the scene is not degrading, it's just that TV producers like electronic music for the background music and they tend to use big electronic hits (in Europe at least).
