This game is badass, havent had a chance to play it, was just watching a friend for a bit. And free, I should probably install it this weekend. Shame on me for never doing half life 1 story, I love that engine. Counterstrike just grabbed me by the balls though.

This is goddamned perfect. This is so gorgeous, and I am loving the new sound effects/voice acting. I hope Valve gives jobs to all of the people who worked on this. Really, really professional work.

Bit annoying that they didn't keep consistency in jump heights between hl2/portal, rendering normal jump utterly pointless. I'm used to crouchjumping in valve games all the time tho.
Looking forward to other source total conversions like Opposing Force, Uplink, Decay and Blue Shift. They're all under development.

Why are character models messed up in Black Mesa Source?
I downloaded and installed Black Mesa Source from Gamefront and the character models are all messed up. They have their arms sticking out when they hold still, they glide across the floor when they walk, and they float in the air and bend in half. Any fix to this problem?
