I own a CDJ100 and I can 100% guarantee you that it plays CDRs. However, I've had some trouble playing CD-RWs with it.

Just a hint, burn your CDs at a low burn speed (on my 8x burner I do it at 4x) and you'll notice that there's quite a substantial difference in the end sound quality.

I went to a club once, and the dj's had a fat set up. Two m3d's with ortofon concord NC carts, djm-600 mixer, decent pa system (only a small club). Anyway, no-one else noticed, but there were no records on the decks. They had the cue lights on and everthing and they were spinning around...but no records. Turns out there were two cdj-100's hidden away that they were using. To top it off, they were using burnt cd's of downloaded music from audiogalaxy. And they had the guts to brag about it. I felt like smacking the bitch and throwing is cs folder out the window.

So yes, they do play CD-R's. Even though this has already been answered, just thought i would have my winge for the day

Most cdplayers (consumer and professional ones) won't have too much trouble with CD-R's. It's not the case with CD-RW's, very few players support those.

alrighty then

i don't use cdrws anyways so that is good. i have seen the cdj100 in action and i think its built like a tank in a small package. nice features on it. even though not as much

yeah i burn my music at low speed actually. probably the lowest (1x) is that okay? should i up it al little. i don't mind waiting for it.

that's pathetic that those guys were bragging about their music.

From my experience there is very little, if not no difference in the recording quality between 4 and 2x burning. And definitely no difference between 2 and 1x burning. So I recommend you burn at 4x, but if you've got all the time in the world, then I guess you could burn at 2x.
