Anscoop..
Hey Anscoop.
I listened to your mix, and it's awesome.. You've done a great job picking which songs to play and mixing, but I'm not sure how to achieve that level of quality without using a real mixer and two good turntables.
I think my second mix works much better than the first.. it flows better. It's not perfect, but it sets the mood, at least for me. I couldn't really dance to it, but that's not the point.
Do you have any suggestions on how to mix in software without getting crappy results? MixMeister is a good program but mixing for 15 seconds maximum is all I can get out of it. Is there something better I can use?

In other words, MixMeister isn't perfect at playing two songs at once and switching between them. Any suggestions on how to get around that?.. Are Rebirth or Reason any better?

Practise! lots of it really is the key. Your second mix is better than the first, yes.
Get rid of Mixmeister and Traktor, the best program is BPM Studio and record with an external source ie. Soundforge. The only thing good about Traktor is the kill switches.
Don't get excited to put only anthems, really the songs in between are the key. Your instinct over what will work with what will build over time. For now, pick a started and then the next track, look for similarity at first, it's not bad to put together a similar sounding set if it's mixed well.... heck Tiesto does it and he's a god around here, even tho it's very unoriginal IMHO!
30 seconds is the shall I say, minimum to keep them mixed, although that's not a rule in stone, be creative... Some songs work best with a slam mix, others work better, really long.
First thing is first, practise beatmatching LOTS!
PS: Rebirth and Reason are music creation progs. not mixing.
Give me a buzz on AIM tomorrow, my nick is Anscoop
