Tinnitus

I have recently come down with Tinnitus that I believe is chronic however it is becoming more intermittent.

I wonder if there are any known DJ's out there that suffer from it?
I also wonder if there are DJ's that actively seek out care and practice ear-protection everytime theyre spinning for clubs?

You should always wear ear plugs in the club if you're a DJ.

As for professionals with tinnitus, one I know of off the top of my head:

That's better. DJ, promoter, bartender, working the door, or just dancing - if you're often around excessively-loud noise, you'd be foolish to not wear earplugs.

Wear ear plugs people, I never worked in the industry but I have lost some of my hearing just from the amount I went out when I was younger. It doesnt come back and I am constantly having to turn up the volume to max on my computer etc, its vicious cycle.

don't use an ipod in public. Unless you have moulded isolated ear buds, this make you deaf.

most people by the age of 30 can't hear above 16 Khz. Those professional engineers and mastering engineers in their 60s are not hearing past 12 Khz.

This is what always bugs me when these old DJs/musicians/etc. are talking about sound quality. You're like a hundred years old and have fucked your hearing systematically for the past 30 years, why are you talking about sound quality.

LOL, they are actually borderline deaf. I remember hearing a story from a promoter about sasha refusing to get on because the sound wasnt loud enough, and the promoter saying it was so loud his ears were borderline bleeding. Like i said, i didnt even work in the industry, but my hearing isnt the same because of not wearing ear plugs when i went out a lot.
