Meat187 - Mushroom Lollipop [Psytrance meets Para Para / Eurobeat]

Now most of you surely always knew that I have terrible taste and no musical talent. However, what has always separated me from TA legends like Bobby West Virginia, LORD OF BASS or DJRyan was the lack of clinical insanity. This mix aims to close that gap.

Yes, it combines two genres that don't fit together at all. Or maybe they do. Like a magic mushroom lollipop. Or sneakers at a wedding. Or snakes on a plane.

I have no more excuses to make. Will anyone like this, or even be able to listen to it? I doubt it. Will ziptnf and Psyshell unite to flame me? I hope so. Will Sushi quote one line from this rant and post a smiley, because that's all he can contribute to anything? Certainly.

Tracklist:

01. Iron Madness - Maximum Game
02. Helena - Take my Life
03. Go Go Girls - Out of my Mind
04. Dave Rodgers - Sun City

07. Dave Rodgers & Mega NRG Man - Night Fever
08. Debbie Key - Never Ending Love [Love Version]

I'm not quoting shit, but I did lol, admittedly.

I won't lie, I probably won't listen to this because, frankly, the concept scares me a little bit.

Yeah, man, this tracklist makes no sense whatsoever.

Not sure if want.

If you're not into Eurobeat - and I don't recall that you are - this can't possibly work for you.

As I said, this is probably the weirdest thing I've done and posted here ever. It's just that mixing Eurodance or Trance became boring to me, so it was time for something daring and crazy.

This mix reminds me of my friend who will get drunk and just randomly play full on mixed with hard trance. The eurodance bits were well done and the psy bits served as a distraction. It's probably the type of thing that would sound good drunk.

It's worth listening to and an interesting idea, but the psy tracks could be better chosen IMO. Maybe some cheesier stuff to fit in with the eurobeat. I'm certainly more interested in your eurobeat mixes now. I'll check them out over the next few days.

P.S. You can't abuse the pitch lock like you did with a psy track later on. When you use pitch lock on something that's being sped up 5+% it just destroys the bass in it. There are some fast (160 bpm) full on tracks around though so you'll need to use them if you want to do that sortof thing.

Thanks so much for you comments! Glad someone was brave enough to give this a try. I'm especially delighted to read this

since that's the best such a mix can hope to achieve. Certainly you're right that I didn't choose the best Psy tracks. I know next to nothing about that genre and obviously this should have been a pure Eurobeat mix. But I'm glad I followed through with this idea, life is too short for boring Deep House mixes.

I guess most of that is down. If you need a re-up just let me know.

Which reminds me:

FAO: Sushi

Is there a thread where regular DJ Promo posters (I won't call myself a DJ, lol) post links to all of their mixes? Is everyone supposed to create his own Tracklist Archive Thread? If so, why don't you create a "Tracklist Archive Thread Archive Thread"?

A few members have made their own mix archive threads, usually visible from links in their sigs, but as far as I'm aware it's not that many people, so a "Tracklist Archive Thread Archive Thread" would probably end up being pretty short.
