Agreed.
Although, to be honest, my favourite picks are Robert Sarah (Ghana), Luis Antonio Tagle (Philippines), and Timothy Michael Dolan (USA), charisma wise. I reckon the church needs a charismatic figure, as much as it needs a competent manager. I mean, I'm not Catholic myself, but I don't think I'd ever want to meet him, as opposed to John Paul Awesome-o, who came before him and looked like a top bloke - that's the kind of "ice breaker" a missionary needs.
Of course, I wouldn't mind if they picked Scherer (from São Paulo), but I don't think he's nearly as friendly as the other guys
