Thumbs up Jody Wisternoff - Way Out There June 013

Some really good tunes in there. I like the tunes @23-, 35- and 52-minute mark.

Do you guys have any recommendations for a good recent dancefloor-house set?

Huge fan of Jody here.

A bit more on the nu-disco tip, but I haven't been able to stop listening to this LTJ Xperience set:

Luke Fair's latest is another good one:

He's done the impossible, made Anjuna(Deep anyway) a listenable label.

at least two of his solo production were direct rip offs of other tunes.

one ripped off the riva/inxs precious heart. can't remember the other, but it was shockingly blatant. well produced, though.

and anjunadeep is a great label, their deep albums are always great. look forward to this one coming soon, though not convinced solo jody isn't a fraud. like nick was the main talent.

Anjunadeep isn't a bad label. They're actually working with some very respectable names these days as well - Tom Middleton, Jody, Midland, etc.

^Yes, it would be fair to say they have made some good choices over the last 3 years in the A&R Dept.

Electronic music has long since involved blatant sampling, the Way Out West albums (with Nick) being no exception (i.e. "Blue" samples the Theme from Withnail & I, "The Gift" samples Joanna Law's cover of Roberta Flack's "The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face"). Anyway, you've got that reversed as far as the production talents go. Jody started with hip hop in the 80s, a momentary stint with house and then rave/hardcore before finally meeting Nick (a couple of samples):

Nick has certainly come a long ways, however.

Finally, a "fraud" couldn't churn out a gem like this:
