Hello! 6 hour set...sheesh

I have a friend who gets to play em every couple of months.

He spins funky disco trance for the first 90 minutes... slowly building into anthems. He plays anthems for about 2 hours...

after the anthems, he spins into deeper trance, still something a good pace, but not as jumpy as anthems for a little bit over an hour and a half. Then the last hour, hard trance, like Bondage, Aquagen, that kinda stuff...

something thats gonna bring their high right back into play...

good luck man, bring a 15 minute song, for your smoke/piss break

6 hour set? lol, could be quite painfull..

Longest I have done is 4 hrs and it worked quite well.

First hour I used some relaxed stuff (Universal nation 2000, Alibi - Eternity (thrillseekers new horizon mix), etc)

Second hour I built up to some more up beat stuff (Balearic Bill - Destination sunshine (original mix), des mitchel - welcome to the dance (original, airscape remix), etc)

Third hour we got a little harder (dumonde, shokk, cosmic gate remix styles)

Last hour used fast energetic stuff (paul janes remixes work a treat)

probably best set i've ever done. I enjoyed it greatly too

i have no experiance but from a strictly objective listeners perspective i think it would be so much better if you the dj could bring it up and down and bang it out for a few tracks rather than going... right. one hour this. next hour this. and forcing everyone to suit there mood for your neat little timeslots i as cliche as it sounds just take it by ear start slow like any set work up work up if you get really high to some anthems maybe bring it down and do it all again or stay chilled... or stay high energy... whatever suits it! (?)
