What is the state of EDM right now? What's hot lately?
This sound, heard at every EDM festival for at least two years now, needs to die and be over with already.
Besides that, what's the hot thing right now? Is Art Department still cool? Disclosure is new, what about them? How much longer does trap music have? I'm just asking in general what's going on lately with EDM.

Good point and good question. I'd like to know the same thing. I've heard some dope new and not-so-new acid releases, but what about techno and trance? Is there anything decent nowadays in such genres? I've heard the new Peter Dundov album, and it's cheese to these ears. Anything else out there?

Techno albums are fail 90% of the time. Just putting that out there. I dont even see the point. Take the best 2 or 3 singles off the album and scrap the rest.

Do you mean LPs or compilations?
Because there's been a LOT of dope compilations lately...
Francois K's Renaissance double mix comp is fire. In fact, all of the recent Renaissance comps are fire (check the Tiefschwarz and Tale of Us releases). Diggers Live in Slovenia -- banging. Steffi's Panorama Bar is sexy, complex warm house and techno.
Anjunadeep's turn to the deep house segment has worked out well for them, enjoy their 05 comnpliation a lot. And Balance's new artist concept has been good so far; both the Guy J and jozif releases are solid.
