i don't agree with these 'this months top 10'.

not familiar with any of these, or the artists... i'm not tuned into new releases at all, really.

playing stuff just because it is new, is like choosing the best of the worst. i just trawl for 'new' tunes, full stop. if they happen to be brand new, it's by coincidence.

focusing on brand new tunes, just narrows your quality band, and probably quite severely.

Nobody's talking about new stuff. If you look at my list, it's all stuff from years ago. You completely misunderstood the topic. The topic asks what you are listening to/playing this month, mostly. Hence, 'top 10,' old or new.

good, thought is was one of those stupid monthly picks lists. i don't think with quality/quantity balance is good enough to pick ten NEW crackers per month.

the title is misleading then... still don't know any of the tunes.

link us (if possible) to the best ones then.

How can I say which ones are the best ones? It's my personal taste. You can find some of the tracks on Youtube and possibly Discogs. Georgia Kelly I heard on a music channel on Cablevision, and I can't find her stuff on Youtube save one track. She plays the harp, and I find her stuff very likable. (It's not edm/em).

This is a type of thread where people can post the music they've been listening to/playing over the month, so people can share stuff with each other and discover/listen to stuff they haven't before.

are you saying all ten of these tunes are totally equal?

there aren't one or two of them that stand taller than the rest?!

of course there are, if not, it suggests a rather bland group of tunes...

You need to chill out and take it easy. Keep it simple. These are 10 tunes that I've chosen over the month, since I've been listening to these tunes more than others. I can't say which ones are better, as they're mostly all in different styles. I like all of them, hence I put them into the list, in no particular order. If you're eager to listen to them, you can find some of them on Youtube and perhaps Discogs. Meantime, feel free to post your own 'list' of what you've been listening to/playing this month, so other users such as myself can perhaps listen to some fresh stuff.

Here's one tune which I'm very much digging at the moment, and have just added it to my list:

chill out? WTF, you don't have an opinion?! doesn't matter if they are all different styles or genres, some of them are better than others... whether that's on a personal opinion basis, or just technically.

do you want me to listen to them all and tell you what are the best two?

i don't do lists for lists sake, but i have rediscovered this belter:

Like I said, they're different styles, so I don't compare them to each other. And it wasn't my intention to think about which ones are 'the best.' I simply made a list of tunes I liked to listen to over this month. If you have to be such a damned stickler, then I'll make an effort to tell you which ones I prefer over the others. The Georgia Kelly tunes would be at the top of my list, followed by Oaxaca, followed by the various downtempo tunes, ending with Gearwhore, MDK, and Orphx. Satisfied now?
