why is everybody copying avicii?

first of all i just want to say that i think avicii is cool so theres not hate here.

i get it we get people copying one thing that really works, like when deadmau5 first came out with his thing, and people were doing that..and that became extremely over saturated, and its not just dance music its all types of art, do people not like their own ideas ? the other day i heard a pitbull song on the radio with country/dance influence of course he has been "sampling" dance music for awhile awhile, but than i hear seasoned veterans in electronic doing the same thing , people who's skill is clearly far beyond those of the younger guys they are copying or being "influenced" and i just go wtf. Anyway i don't what this thread is about i just find it funny that a guy who clearly makes really catchy hits but has mediocre talent in all other aspects of the craft has that much influence over everyone else in the profession.

We live in an X-Factor/Pop Idol generation of attention hungry fucktards who care not for skill or craft.

It's all about trends really and they change much faster now because of the internet. Before when you had to actually go out and buy records and cds, you would come home and listening to it start to finish. Now you go on soundcloud or youtube skip the first 2 mins of a track and keep skipping and if you dont like what you hear in that collective 1 min, you are not interested. The reason "veterans" are doing what the "young" people are doing now, is because they were the "young" people before, they were the ones everybody was looking up to and now that their sound has run its course, they have to do what everybody else is doing to try and stay at least some bit popular.

Well, i think that every artist has his taste and he knows what he likes but he does not know anything about the people's taste.
So if everyone like McRoyals and McRoyals are selling like crazy then you are like: "ok then, guess i'll open a burgers joint instead of that Pakistani restaurant iv'e been planning".

I also like his music (there's a difference between like and love), he is successful in this world for the exact same reason Luke Chable is not.
But i can understand his appeal: catchy tunes and simple builds, copying the build is easy, just not so sure how you can get away with copying the melodies.

That's what I sorta thought, but thanks for confirming. I see his name in print everywhere, but I've never actually heard anybody say his name. Mostly because I hang out with married 30-somethings and none of us listen to new trance/EDM.

I could be wrong, but I think it's because they like that kind of music and enjoy making it.
