I won't buy it now but I have a feeling that i will be yearning for a turntable after 2 months of when i get my equipments. So here is a few questions for you guys to answer for me so it can help me out.

1. What turntable is good out there? I will only get one since I will have a cdj1000, cdj100, and a turntable so i got 3 good music players in the setup. Technics???? how much is average price

2. Do I have to constantly buy needles for it? How durable are needles anyways?

3. Do I have to buy more than one copy of vinyl since vinyl will wear and tear pretty fast? Doesn't scratching mess up the top of your vinyl?

4. Direct me to a good vinyl website that has good prices.

yes, technics 1200SL. you can get mk2s or m3ds. it doesn't really matter much though, they are almost identical. I bought mine for $650 CAD, and i got a DAMN good deal.

you will need to buy some needles, they are not included. I got 2 stanton trackmasters for $300 CAD, and they came with 2 extra stylus and a carrying case. I didn't get a good deal on these, i coulda got em cheaper on the net, but i didn't want to wait, and that is all they had at my local music store. Ortofons are the best needles, but they are expensive.

a little bit yeah, but not that badly. the less weight you use, the less it will wear them out. but, if you don't use enough weight the needle might skip. Also, it sounds better with more weight, at least my stantons do, especially the high frequencies. some needles track better than others, and some sound better. I find my stantons are pretty much average at both.

1) get a technics SL1200, for sure! $300-$375 used, $400-$450 new, USA prices.
2) Depends on the needle. I use shure M44Gs, had them about 5 months now and they are still fine. I've slammed them around and done some really dumb stuff, and they work just fine. *good* needles are durable and will last you quite a while if properly treated!
3) vinyl is more durable than you think, but not invincible. Unless you only have 15 records and play each one every day, I dont think vinyl wear will be an issue for you. some of my records i have been played HUNDREDS of times and they sound just fine. if I toon is REALLY rare and you can get an extra copy, go for it.. especially if it's one your gonna play at every set - some DJs also have a copy they only play live, and another copy to practice on..
4) check the threads here - there is a thread that lists all sorts of record shops. but I will say, if you want to start your collection off, go to www.planetxusa.com and search through thier clearance items... ALOT of good vinyl can be had from them for 5-7$ a record, and they dont gouge you for shipping. my experience with planetxusa has been very good.

But I don't think they ship outside USA...
