To clear things up, I'm not looking for anything really creative or unprecedented. I've lurked around checked some examples on this specific board, but I don't exactly get happy when I listen to them.
Don't get me wrong, Xpander & Urban Train are hot but I'm looking for the old really mainstream dance tracks that were heard on all those radio stations in the malls. I need your help because I don't want to go around stupidly buying all those mix cd's with one good song and pure crap throughout.
Please note I'm looking for "feel" and/or dance inducing tracks that make you happy. And it's a plus if they're cheezy.
A crappy list off the top of my head for the feel I'm looking for (some songs, are id'ed just by quotes)
Scatman John: Scatman
Haddaway: What is love?
Cher: Believe
Daft Punk: One More Time
Bloodhound Gang: Discovery Channel
"I got the power" song
"Everybody dance now" song
The mortal kombat movie theme song...
Lasgo - Alone
the girl singing "runaway, runaway" song (only thing I can remember)[the video is her running away on a bridge at daytime. Circa 97-00 right? huge hit if i'm not mistaken.]
"I Like To move it, move it"
Backstreet Boys- "Everybody, yeah, yeah, Move your body, yeah, yeah"
"Where do you go? My darling...I wanna know" <-just that part, after that the song is shit
"Go Ninja,Go Ninja Go!!" Ninja Turtle Movie
Nirvana- Teen Spirit
Alice Deejay(?)- Do you think your better off alone?
Eiffel 65- Blue
Amber-This is your night
Around the World-ATC
In a Dream- Rockell
I Turn to you- Melanie C. (just chorus)
Gloria Estafan-Turn the Beat Around
Madonna- Like a Prayer
C'mon Ride The Train- Quad City DJ's
Oooh Ah.. Just a Little Bit- Gina G (just chorus)
Aqua- Barbie Girl (just chorus)
T.a.T.u- All the things she said (just chorus)
^I know those were disgusting examples, but that's all I can think of for now, my mind's blank and I don't really look for names on certain songs, even if they're hits. Those are just examples of the feel I'm talking about that I get when they're played in the nightime environment. Those songs aren't my usual style or my preference, but sometimes I like them.
