Carl Cox

I was wondering about Carl Cox. How would anyone define his music or the stuff he spins. Just curious.
Cheers

Carl Cox make some sort of techhouse. If you want a good idea of what he can do, dowload his set live at the crobar in chicago.

carl cox has mad dj skills - one of the most high-energy, talented djs i've ever seen live. he works the crowd like a mo-fo.

he usually spins a mixture of techno and funky house. but honestly, he spins whatever music carl cox damn well likes at the moment. but you won't hear him spinning trance, that's for sure...

Carl Cox plays mainly 2 types of music Techno and house i saw him at the SugarShacks 7th birthday party a year or so back and it was breakneck hard techno then i saw him play in space in Ibzia and he played a funky house set on the terrace that had evryone dancing. he was on 4 decks both times scratching records in on the beat he has mad skills.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of uppers, downers, laughers, screamers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon.

thanks...

I picked up his GLOBAL Cd and I like it. I would call it tech-house cuz the beats are housey but there's lots of percussive sounds and funky bass lines...definitely more emphasis on rhythm as opposed to melody, hence not trance. I assume he mixed it live, so wow ,, very nice..very infectious stuff

Pete Tong used to introduce him on the E-Mix and say "The Worlds greatest DJ" or something like that.

mad sets he used to play on that E-mix, seen him once at the arches *i think* it was the arches LOl, bit mashed back then but he rocked the place.
