Among others. I'd say this scene was maybe doing a little better in 2012. Unfortunately, with the exception of a select few, most of the people who produce this kind of music (and do a very good job at it), can't seem to get their big break as DJs, and play mostly local/regional gigs (see Argentina), and maybe a few international gigs here and there. As such, I think that some maybe moved away slightly from this sound, at least when it comes to their DJ sets, in order to increase their chances of getting booked.

Thanks for the info. He's great. Could you place that 2012 sound into a few key genres so I know what I'm listening too?

Well pretty much progressive house is what people mostly refer to it as. Don't get me wrong, it's still around, I just find not as much. check out the labels Sudbeat, Sound Avenue and Lost & Found, look at the artists on those labels' rosters and go from there. Maybe some would refer to it more as melodic tech house or deep tech house. I wouldn't worry too much about that though.

depends. what is the context?

did you hear a set, or a CD, or a track of his?

his sequential mix cd's are amazing, but after that his style went more minimal and became boring as shite.

Listen to Adam, he knows what he's talking about.

I'd also add Balkan Connection, and Dopamine Music, they put out some good records too.

As for djs, Fernando Ferreyra, Luis Bondio, Mariano Favre and Manuel Sofia are very talented

I seen him live at Creamfields last year and I enjoyed his set at the Burning Man Aug 2013, which was similar.
