Alright, A couple weeks ago, I have been haveing a weird problem, I was running Win98SE and all of a suden, I couldnt go onto any messaging service, Well, I can But I cant respond to messages on ICQ, And AIM wont stay open longer then about a minute. So I formated, And decided to install Redhat 7.2.. Same problem. Installed Debian. Same Problem. So I borrowed my friends laptop,(I have more of a use to it then she does) And it works perfectly. I can stay on AIM for days, I can respond to Messages on ICQ, I dont see what is the Problem? Before I throw my computer out the window I would like some suggestions on what I can possibly do. I have never seen anything like this and am wondering if I should try to buy a new network card or something. Thanks for any help |
Considering it looked like you ruled out an OS issue and you proved it had to be something with your hardware by borrowing your friend's laptop I'd have to say a hardware problem as well.
Try replacing the NIC...
