Thats a good deal.
Tabs are a really good way to learn. That's the way I taught myself. You're able to make the connection between the sound and position of a note much more quickly than with classical musical notation. I think Guitar magazine online (www.???.com) publishes their back issues with Tabs, and they're always spot on. You could give that a try.
Try the hard stuff. It's discouraging at first, but when you get it you feel fuckin amazing and you'll find that a lot of other stuff wil start comming naturally. Also, I've always found that constantly changing the style I play, say every month or so, can really help round out your skills.
Cheers,
Fats
