it has that feel and is pretty much on the money in my opinion , i tried playing around with the operators to get more wobbly but it only made the sound worse so i left it as is.

FM8 is not like any other synth i use. It sure looks hard to master.

my only experience with fm synthesis is Logics EFM1 and that's just hitting the 'random' button till something cool happens

ya that is not what anyone would consider the formant styled talking bass. IT is neither a bass and well, it sounds terrible.

it is incredible how trance producers just don't realize that they are so far behind in terms of sound design and synthesis.

There is a formula but it won't really help you out. Most people really use it in a very basic way. ITs strengths are that a little gain to the modulator can cause drastic sound change which can lead to interesting things in dance.

It sounds like shit on its own.

Sounds cool! I have FM8 and use it occasionally, but I prefer Rob Papen Blue (and, recently Blue II) for my FM needs. FM is useful for a lot more than just chimes/bells, though. It's also great for pads, and grungy basses/leads, etc.

I'm just a guy that thinks it is funny that people still don't know how to do a fm8 format bass when it was like the super saw 2 years ago. Despite how ducking annoying most of it is, the sound design is as Sean put it, well you guys are still discovering that you can route n lfo to another lfo and have a modulated speed filter effect.

But honestly, I'm someone that has been doing music. Averaged probably 8 hours a day since I was 2. There is nothing you could stump me in even in your little EDM niche. And that accounts for maybe 10% of the stuff I'm good at. I'm also just really fuckable.
