so, here you are agreeing with that Tiesto comment.
How does that square with what you just wrote on the GAIA post?

unless you're trolling of course, makes total sense then.

But seriously, you kind of have to agree with what he says, cause its the sad truth.

It's basically the definition of selling out that he's giving here, cause that's what selling out is

Nice spin by calling that "relevance", lol.

In terms of the analysis, you kind of have to wonder, if trance is yesterday, and house is today, how come house has been around at least as long, ditto techno (in the current US usage)

But, say what you will about him, he's honest.
"doesn't think he can still do vinyl"

Mr 138+ himself prob. would have said:
what do you mean leaft trance, I didn't leave trance!
I've advanced it, but I didn't leave it.

I guess being a 'godfather' of trance wasn't good enough for him. What an ass. Such a waste of talent. I guess money speaks louder than passion. Congrats on being besties with Martin Garrix, though. That's pretty good compensation for your dignity.

he is just trolling and following the trends
look at him now dipping into the deep house scene here and there
a few years from now when this whole yolo pop trouse electro stuff blows over he will jump on the next trend

he is more of a brand and businessman more than anything these days
now for some nostalgia

Exactly, brand and businessman. Sucks for the music lover, but hey I get it.

Fuck he's looking rough, lol.

You would too with his schedule.

While I 100% understand where he is coming from I do agree that he comes off as a bit of an ass here.

Agreed. Can't wait til this elecbro/brostep/trouse/fist pump trend moves on.

And good nostalgic share. I miss that era.

Here is another of his with a very ISOS 2 feel to it.

Its the evolution of this type of music. While electronic music is/was huge in Europe now it is center stage in America which took a while so it is rooting out into all these different sounds which some originate from Trance sound. By the pattern shown from the last Ultra event EDM music is moving towards hard-style / hardcore in America which is huuuugee in europe! the dutch DJs will eventually work this in their sets.

Indeed, and that would be cool.

But it's too weird, in the past, you could make a case that anything that was a trend in the US would hit Europe with a lag of a decade or so.
Current example is weed, here we're on the cool-down path, over there, it's still the devil's weed, and all you hear from NL is an attempt to dial their decrim. back, rather than turning decrim into legalization.

But with this music?

Scooter's been around for so long, most of the kids we're talking about in this thread were't dry when they started (imo, their heyday was more like 15+ years ago).
Not that they're not doing well now (and they've sold 25+ million albums...), yet here, even with people who know dance music, it's more like, who dat?

They're so unknown, that Hans Peter can walk through EZoo like any other fan, pretty much unmugged, let alone being on the mainstage for an evening spot.
Unmugged, except for that cool photo SebG snagged with him in '12.
(stil jealous, lol)

If they ever do make it here, hope they do a lot of that pre Wicked 160 and up stuff.

now, what to make of their current official web adr:
scootertechno.com
