This question has been asked b4 but are there any hints which headphones are suitable for trance and what do they cost ?

All the highend Sennheisers. I would recommend the HD580s, pretty much identical to the HD600's (Their highest end model and one of the best headphones around, if not the).
It runs for about $199 USD

I'll second that. I have a pair of HD590s which sound better than a pair of B&W nautilus monitors. Extremely comfortable too.

I honestly don't believe they sound better than B&W nautilus

Just bought Sony MDR-V600's and i'm pretty happy with them so far (for the price), i'm sure top of the line Sennheisers sound a lot better but.. €€€$$$£££ as always..
