And all that will come out will remain sh*t....

You can do something 'decent', but it won't be great.

And please guys, don't come to me with the story that
if I put in enough time, I can get good sound... it's
just not true.

Why can I take any of my analog synths, and have whopping
subbazz in 20 seconds (on much more complicated synths)...
and why don't I manage to do this on the Substractor?

Anyway, don't see this as a flame, it's just my opinion.

Greetz,

CoolRunning

The book "Analog Synthesis" from www.wizoo.com seems good.

I don't think there are any sites that will teach you how to make phatt basses or sounds... they will however teach you the basics and maybe little tips ... its up to you to spend time, experiment and tweak the sounds

Maybe look for a Roland Juno 106, they're not
that expensive, almost 100% analog, and have
vicious resonance on their filters.

You should be able to pick up one for anything
between 400 and 500 Euro.

Even a bit phatter are the Juno6 and Juno60,
but these have no midi. If you can find a midified
one, go for it... they're the phattest Junoz around.

And then you've only done bass... if you do Trance,
you're in the right place with a Juno: Dirty leads,
warm pads, cool strings, sound fx... all possible!
Juno6/60/106 are also arguably the best laid out
synths ever made, they're very simple and intuitive
to program...

But: compared to a Virus, with te Virus, you're
getting more options for your money...

Try downloading some descent tunes with subtractors from reasonstation.net then see how the subtractors have been programed. It helped me a lot. But iv got a virus now and its worlds away. I still cant make a descent bass sound with it though.
