And all that will come out will remain sh*t....
You can do something 'decent', but it won't be great.
And please guys, don't come to me with the story that
if I put in enough time, I can get good sound... it's
just not true.
Why can I take any of my analog synths, and have whopping
subbazz in 20 seconds (on much more complicated synths)...
and why don't I manage to do this on the Substractor?
Anyway, don't see this as a flame, it's just my opinion.
Greetz,
CoolRunning

Maybe look for a Roland Juno 106, they're not
that expensive, almost 100% analog, and have
vicious resonance on their filters.
You should be able to pick up one for anything
between 400 and 500 Euro.
Even a bit phatter are the Juno6 and Juno60,
but these have no midi. If you can find a midified
one, go for it... they're the phattest Junoz around.
And then you've only done bass... if you do Trance,
you're in the right place with a Juno: Dirty leads,
warm pads, cool strings, sound fx... all possible!
Juno6/60/106 are also arguably the best laid out
synths ever made, they're very simple and intuitive
to program...
But: compared to a Virus, with te Virus, you're
getting more options for your money...
