the bedrock thread

bedrock is an institution as a label, and its production output under the same name is rock solid.

it says the label started in 1999. but the first bedrock production dates back over 20 years with that fucking epic KYO track for what you dream of, tagged full on renaissance mix. that is some legacy right there. then there seems to be a hiatus?

has it always been digweed and muir?

this is dedicated to glories past and present.

Do you not know how to use Discogs? Bedrock the production alias was always Digweed & Muir. They used to release on Stress, but in the '90s their remixes were more common than their original productions. Bedrock became a clubnight at Heaven in London (hence Heaven Scent) and then a label. Tracks under the alias were very common around 1999-2005, and I think Santiago was the last Bedrock track before they just started calling themselves John Digweed & Nick Muir. The quality of the tracks dropped off at exactly that moment, but at least the Bedrock alias is untarnished by mediocrity.

I find all this stuff tacky as my tastes have evolved, but this track dragged my dick in the dirt at Stereo 4 years ago, pilled out of my skull.

EDIT: Didn't read System-J's post, but yeah Santiago was the bombbbb.

yeah i know how to use discogs, got the mofo on speed dial. don't you know how to post without a belittling pretext? if it weren't for that, i'd be forced to applaud your historical context nice tidbit about heaven scent, though never really liked that record for some reason.

and mark... you should know by now none of my tunes are going to tickle your awkward fancy, why torture yourself?!

love this one, was lucky enough to hear a pencil-mustachioed danny T drop it just recently awesome voodoo vibe.
