yeah thanks guys. since it happened my mindset has been that it's going to be a good thing. i had a bad habit of just hoarding stuff, getting tracks 50%, 75% 90% done but never finishing them, and consciously telling myself oh yeah i'll go back and finish this or that, but it never really happened like that. to be honest all those tracks had me feeling kind of guilty and instead of focusing on forward motion, lots of my energy would be concentrated on those old projects.
now a totally fresh start with all the incredible things i've learned, when i jump back in the game i'm going to be so ready to just annihilate. a chance to reconcile my entire work flow toward finishing tracks. if you ask people who have made it solid like justin martin they'll tell you just finish tracks. finish them, finish finish finish.
so that's what i'm going to do, anything i start i'm going to try and finish, for better or worse, just for the sake of finishing stuff and moving forward.
i'm a bit sentimental so i'll miss some of the compositions and ideas because there were a lot of beautiful ones, but the break has me at over a month without working on any music. the first week i stopped i got to see the dirtybird stage with my music making friend, the other half of my new duo, who's already signed to dirtybird, and our duo project moves full steam ahead this year, anyway even after that first week i had so much inspiration for new music i was ready to start making shit right then and there, fast forward over a month and the inspiration is brimming, i know for a fact when i come back i'm going to be going hard, and it's going to be pretty amazing.
some of you know me better than others but those of you who have noticed me over the years know i've been doing this for a LONG time, and shit is coming together pretty well.
so fuck it, the theft will ultimately end up being something that helped spin me into the right direction with a fresh start and fresh ambition, compounded by 10 years of production experience.
anywho thanks again for the support gents
