Curious about this kind of lead.

Hello everyone. How are you!?

I will show a pair of tracks that usually has similar leads. There is not a melody, is kind a effect sound but it is a lead in the all track. The thing is, I don't have idea how to recreate it. I was using sylenth 1 as start but I can't found the sound.

Here is the classics tracks:

-Fred Baker - Total Blackout
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iy5m9w1VmX0

-Dark Alliance-Vibration
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_YODjfgZAY

Thank you in advance.

Hello, thank you for your answering. But you had to listen to the tracks, because this kind of leads are not a melody or something similar, it is kind an effect actually but I said lead because is leading of the all track. This lead is not a uplifting lead that contain reverb as you said.

LFO modulated low pass filter.

In each example you posted the underlying synth sound is different, but the filter effect is the same.

listen to beginning. You will hear how the filter is being manipulated because the crest is still low.

the second example is done by using an arpegiator with the speed really high and say the pattern is 3 note 16th pattern , stretch it to 12 notes , 4 notes per pitch, with the 4erth being quiet. That is how you get that video game sound.

just checked robotrance's link. Thats pretty much it.

Yes exactly. I was testing a bit and I could get some good results that I want. Just left to try the second one that you explained to me. I was thinking that is kind a Distortion added like decimate or bitcrush. And it is, I heard some video game sound, maybe square wave on it.

Nice. Yeah, It's true. The second one that you made really like it. What kind of waveform you used or effects ? I was testing a bit and I could find the lead effect.

Yes, It has. This is what I did:
Osc1: Saw
Osc2: Saw 1/Octave different
Osc3: Saw 2/Octave different (I noticed better the effect)

I apply also detuned to them.

Activate Low Pass Filter. I added a bit of resonance and I modulate LFO to the Cutoff Filter.
