umm helen? any history to share?
All I can tell you is that trance has never been huge in Australia, and probably never will be - we are currently suffering through a deluge of rnb, drum'n'bass, funky house and breaks
Usually we get the big name trance internationals out here once a year (Armin a few weeks ago, Ferry Corsten next week, Paul van Dyk usually in May, Tiesto earlier in the year)... the place usually packs out but there aren't enough regular numbers to really completely guarantee success.
Sydney alone of the capital cities has a real trance night once a month (some of the big name clubs play some hard trance, but its usually old and buried amongst hard house & techno). There are quite a few goa and psy-trance parties around the place in Syd, but they are pretty underground and packed full of goths :/
Beyond that I can't really help you...
Sorry
