Dunno Reason 2.0, Is it worth the money?

What does everyone think of Reason 2.0? I am looking for any comments, good or bad. I need to decide if it is worth the money to buy and the time needed to learn it. Also, what kind of learning curve is involved with this program? Thanks.

YES, it is worth the money and the commitment.

Once you get past the "what the fuck are all these buttons and wires?!"-stage it's fairly simple...

I think it is.

But I would get a midikeyboard and maybe a midi controller too

Hmm... I'd take buzz any day over reason, and buzz is free.

That's nice for you.

But that doesn't really answer the question, does it?

yes it's defenetly worth the money, it's as close to hardware as you'll ever get in theese days

and about the learning curve

for me it was like the first month just playing around, making some melodies and learning the instruments and how reason works and after that i started making complete songs so it takes about a month to learn and then you can start off seriously

of course you will learn more on the way but you will have the basics needed after about a month

Yeah... it took me 6 months to make my first real tune (which sucked) but I learned the basic steps in a month or so.

You can spend a lifetime learning all those neat wiring tricks too, but that's not really necessary.

Of course it does! Maybe not directly, but indirectly yes.

But it is just my opinion anyways... personally I don't like reason at all.

I've played around with the Reason demo and I'm really impressed. The subtractor sounds lovely.. you got everything you could possibly want in reason (or at least anything you need to make a top notch pro tune).

What are you trying to imply?

There's so much audio software out there, and I'd hate to break it to you, but there's stuff that's better than reason. That being said, there's nothing wrong with reason, and a lot of people like it, but I prefer working with other tools.

And don't try telling me reason is the most advanced audio program ever created, because it isn't... actually it's far from it.
