I've been longing for some good nights at Avalon lately! Exchange and Sound have kept me pretty busy since the New Year, seems like such a long time until 3/28. Avalon did a lot of work remodeling the club, and it looks nicer now. I read that they also recently installed a whole series of new subwoofers and are pretty fanatical about the sound, which I like.
Moving on to the crowd, the washers are still there, but mostly on Trance/EDM music nights. The only thing I really don't like is the Robitussin cough syrup concoction they pass off as cranberry juice. That's my preferred mixer and it doesn't taste worse anywhere than Avalon! Sometimes I just go with pineapple instead.
IMO, Avalon is THE perfect club for this lineup. The sound will be amazing, the music's going to be awesome, and the night can go on pretty much late as desired. What's not to like?

This is definitely the venue for Hernan. The two times I've seen him at Avalon were memorable. Maybe because Nick Warren was with him. Which is why you should go! I've seen him at Exchange and didn't enjoy his set that much.
Last time I was at Avalon was for Hernan and Guy J. Can't wait to see them again with Nick Warren added in. Should be a (musically) memorable night.

Can I get more info on the Crowd. I haven't been to Avalon in nearly 5 years now and swore I would not go back until they stopped that nonsense with the rope/corden inside the club and more importantly, the washers were all gone.
The last night I was there, there were so many washers it made it impossible to dance except in the corners, and a few had made an e-puddle right on the dancefloor and when people asked them to move the got super aggressive in a zombie kinda way. Like moaned something incomprehensible and wobbled their limbs in your general direction.
