Big Ears What is this sound called (percussion/samba)?

I have been trying to find similar sound to this (you can hear it in the beginning and then it is after/between the claps):
[[ LINK REMOVED ]]

I can't find a sound/sample that sounds same. I don't mean it needs to sound 100% same, but similar you know? So what it is called? Is it some sort of percussion? Or is it some sort latin/samba sound?

What would be the best way to make similar sound? Or should I look for some specific sample refill (I have Reason)?

I quite often make this sort of sound. I just layer up a few similar sounds (Toms / percussion type sounds) and arrange the notes / hits loosely so it has a Human feel. You might want some nice roomy verb to give it presence - imagine how the space around them should sound - for example should it sound like they are being played in a forest clearing or a basement?

Yes! I think a nice reverb will help a lot to get that feeling to the sound.
So you layer some sound? I haven't actually looked for toms... I will try that!
