Tomorrowland 2013 Tips!

I'm skipping EDC this year, been too many times. Already done Ibiza. Tomorrowland is my next adventure this year! Any tips on flying in from the US would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard i have to be on the money the SECOND they go on sale. And I want to do the whole camping experience. Worth throwing 2 grand towards this trip? Worth taking the Tomorrowland airplanes? Thoughts?

I just bought all my flights the other day actually, so I am 100% committed, even if I have to go the eBay ticket route. I am confident in my skills to buy tickets though, I have a good isp, and I've never failed with any other festival.

As for flights, I found Iceland Air to be the cheapest. I got LAX to Brussels for $850 one way, which is about the cheapest it is going to get. Unless you wanna risk a last minute ticket, and from my experience(last year) I waited and the only tickets left were $2,000 each way. I am going to Ibiza afterwords, so I am not familiar with flights back home, but I am sure Iceland Air will be the best route for a round trip. The Tomorrowland flights are apart of travel packages, and I am not sure if any of them fly out of the US, maybe NYC.

Either way $2,000 is a major under budget IMO unless you don't plan on drinking or eating the entire weekend.

Tix for Tomorrowland sell out very quickly, so watch for the date and time they go on sale (usually in April) and keep trying! I read some stories from people who already had airfare, hotel, etc. booked but couldn't get tix even though they kept trying to buy them the minute they went on sale.

Last year, they did offer ticket packages with airfare and hotel/camping. All flights departed from NYC, and these packages were still available for awhile after the regular tix sold out. There's no flexibility in departure and arrival dates though, you just fly over for the party and back. When I go to Europe, I want to stay there at least a few weeks (it's 11 hours each way on the plane with a direct flight, after all, and the time difference wipes me out for a few days), so I don't think I would ever go using one of their packages.

I really, really wanted to be at Tomorrowland last year, but between the tix selling out and getting laid off from work, it just wasn't the year. Then I watched the main stage Internet feed live, and thought the music sucked for the most part: Afrojack, Skrillex, etc. Only a few decent DJ/Producers on that stage, so I was actually kind of glad that I didn't go. The best music once came from Europe and their festivals, and then it came our way. Now it's either the other way around, or it's just on small side stages at the festivals. If they start booking more decent DJ's on the main stage, I'd consider going back again though.

We plan on buying our flights in Feb, for the airline I pretty much have to use in Charlotte (USeless Airways) the flight cost for Europe is usually at its lowest then. If flights to brussels from the US are expensive look in to flying in to london, madrid, paris and then taking the easyjet or ryan air to brussels or cheroli

As far as buying tickets:
Last year we used 8 computers with 6 separate IP addresses right at 5am EST (or was it 4am i cannot remember) to buy our tickets and only got one computer with the option to buy up to (4) three day passes. Two other computers only got single day ticket offers of Friday and Sunday and the rest never saw a chance at a ticket. Saturday and 3 day packages were gone within a half second. I get tickets for every event all the time but tomorrowland proved the absolute most difficult I have ever seen. Expect to pay $700 to $1000 USD on eBay per 3 day ticket.

Buy a travel package (if offered before regular tickets again this year) to save yourself the hassle. We plan on doing that this year.

The thing about the travel package is it forces you to only attend the festival. If they would let you choose the time you wanted to fly home, or even only provide a flight to the festival, it would be helpful, but they don't. If I am going to Europe, it's for more than just a few days.

I'm interested in buying the travel package IF it includes the 3 day pass, the flight from NYC, shuttles and camping. might be a lot to ask for. I used to live in England and been to Brussels before but now living in LA, is almost the other side of the world for flight cost.

Its true, The main stage was incredibly fucking bad last year. Definitely go somewhere else in europe while you are there it is just not worth flying all the way there and back for just 3 days. Consider nature one. I think it is usually the weekend before or after and is also incredible. Nothing like partying in an old nuclear missile base. My favorite stage was group therapy followed by TA. Honorable mention to the richie hawtin stage. I missed alot of stuff due to long walks between stages though.

Overall i think it was better in 2008, it is still worth going but not sure if i would go again. Im getting old for huge crowds like that. Hehe. I thought The music was better overall at EDC. But I missed the entire 2nd day because i came down with the flu. Of course big thanks again to TA for hooking me up with tickets

I had a camping pass and didnt even end up using it and stayed at a hotel in mechelen. The hotel was awful but the shuttle service is fine i would stay in antwerp though. I heard there were really long lines for showers at the campsite but dont know for sure. Any questions?

Oh ya. Be prepared for rain. It POURED like hell last year i def wouldnt want to be camping in that.

the travel packages were available last year with accommodations only (like dreamville). those were the ones i was talking about for making sure you got a ticket.

As far as actual travel packages to the US, they only offered it to and from new york so you would have to find your own way to new york from california

We did Nature One last year, I recommend it wholeheartedly. Definitely doing it again this year.

2 day pass for 75e? Sleeping in a hotel for 20e? Or campsite in 7e? Beer and Jager 3e? Sounds pretty amazing to me

Thanks for all the excellent comments, I'm kind of being put off the whole Tomorrownland idea now because of the hassle with everything. Nature One could be the ticket.

tomorrowland is pretty much the the creme de la creme IMO

if you can get tickets for it the second they go on sale then plan the rest of your trip accordingly, if not go to Nature 1
