Anyone ever done this or know someone who has? I know a dude who had a serious anxiety disorder for years, couldn't leave the house, etc. and after his first session he was "cured." All anxiety deleted.
I've tried virtually everything else, and he's guaranteeing me it will help, so it's pretty much settled. Either gonna try and find it here or maybe visit him in Spain to do it.
This guy talks about his experience on it here:
Supposedly it has like a 100% success rate for people with addictions (heroin, opiates, etc.).
He's only the one conducting the interview, who gives a shit?

There is no cure for mental disorders best you can hope for is to manage it through medication, support groups, counseling, etc.

What podcast is that? Unless it's this one, which I haven't yet finished watching, although I doubt he'd broach the topic of mental disorders as he didn't seem to be suffering from one prior.
I'll probably be going to Spain next month to give it a try. Hopefully I make it out alive and will report my results when I return.
Btw, IGK, if you actually haven't the slightest inkling of what Iboga is - and everyone else for that matter - please don't post something you've simply heard from others.

I've heard a lot about ayahuasca and its benefits on the JRE, too.
I've thought about trying it...maybe in Peru.
Best podcast ever, btw

there are a lot of natural substances, from plants flowers and trees, that grow in nature that can provide for cures.
just make sure you get it from a reliable source.

Anxiety isn't a disorder and you can't cure something that is a normal adaptive behaviour. So right off the bat, stop thinking cure. You have more anxiety than one should have which is very different.
If the issue is neurological, there is no known treatment that lasts. You learn to cope. if it is like most people perhaps a bit of both biology and the way you developed and your particular brain wiring , you can't fix that with a drug. You can take an ssri which will help somewhat long term while you learn coping mechanisms or if it is just a very sporadic occurence from external factors like say having to audition for project runway, benzodiazipines will work but they are terrible long term solutions.
Just think it thru. How can any drug cure something that can't be cured and if it can just cure the over active anxiety, how the fuck do you think you will somehow get the exact dosage and zap all the right neurons.
And i suppose the most basic thing of all, when one or 2 or 10 people say it worked for them, thnk of how small that sample size is. Ask yourself why the pharmaceutical industry is not doing research. There is no such thing as natural medicine. Medicine is something that is proven to work. Thats it. No eastern medcine. IF it does what it should above a certain level, that is medicine.
You will be paying for a placebo effect. Which will help. You will also be in spain. The trip will probably help you but it ain't the fucking iboga.
