apply effects to my tune..

with Reason 2.0
I have connected a ECF-42 to my Malström (melody)
In the middle of my track I want that my melody fades in with the effect i'm using with the ECF-42.. you know.. like in plastic boy - silver bath .. but how can I apply an effect to my track?? the record button don't work..
plz help

Right click the button you want to fade and select "edit automation".
Then draw the line there.

You cannot automate effects unless you create a separate channel for them.
