convincing the world and me that subtractor got actually the potential of phat leads...I once said subtractor sucks and I still believe that quality sounds are not possible...

so I want to make a little competition about it...I want to publish the best Subtractor Patches right here...send me your patches...the winners will get a really fucking phat lead ( Reason SMP or RNS ) ...

The subtractor can make some excellent leads

here are some ideas on how to do it:

Use two of them, routed to play the exact same thing. Pan one to the left and one to the right.

Add delay and reverb to each one and compress the hell out of them.

I have one really good lead that I made in Subtractor that I'm using in my latest track so I don't want to give it away! So count me out.

Airbase wrote HERE

I very seldom use the subtractor but it happens, if I make a sound that sounds un-subtractorly, if you know what i mean. apart from that, I use the sampler and the drummachine and also the rex loopplayer. I fetch samples to the sampler, samples recorded from some synths, not my yamaha because that one sounds pretty lame compared with a jp-8080 for instance, anyways, i load the samples into the sampler, then makes music

everyone is talking that subtractor is a good synth...but I am still waiting for an example ( and if someone doesn't want to give his one and only patch to community, he could give an mp3 for us to listen ...)

Subtractor is great maybe you don't need it for every production but it's still some useful

well i have a pretty nice string sound if that counts...it was trancevission that made it for me and it's awesome so the subtractor sure as hell got potential

download it here

it's the string in the beginning I'm talking about

*lol* my own patch will be used to convince me that subtractor got potential..pure irony...meanwhile I could listen to lots of sounds of subtractor and I think when you reduce those harsh frequencies like in the stringpad it can sound quite good
But I am still hoping for some Ferry Corsten - Punk or Rank 1 Awakening sound coming of the subtractor...
