i always though sylenth was something you need to tweak fuck out of to get a decent sound. i'm talking about the patches specifically.

Sylenth is too limited to tweak the fuck out of. The reason that its so popular is because, despite its lack of depth (i.e., parameters, mod sources/targets), it has a huge sweet spot. You almost have to work to make it sound bad. And, yeah, that makes it popular with beginners, but mostly because it has a large selection of usable presets and there are countless third-party preset banks for it.
Why do you all assumed he wants a beginner synth? He asked which soft synths produces the highest quality in terms of sound.

Nobody assumed that the OP wants a beginner synth. My comment was in response to the guy before me who tried (failed) to make the condescending remark that Sylenth is a beginner synth. And, yes, it's very popular with newbs because of its presets (which the OP did ask about), but that doesn't make it a beginner's synth.

IDK about that. Great synth, certainly, but not great presets IMO, especially not for what the OP is looking for (i.e., "acid sounds, square bass, synth leads, pads etc."). YMMV, I guess.
