What illnesses do/did you suffer from?

Curious as to what health problems you've had, either chronic or acute. I can start: Tinnitus, mysophobia (fear of germs) and pylonidal cyst with several interventions.

Bonus points if you know anyone with some rare diseases.

Had a cute appendicitis when I was around 20. I woke up one morning and noticed a dull, gnawing pain. Needless to say, it was getting worse throughout the day. My dad told me to lay down and relax, and of course that wasn't helping. Eventually evening came around and we had to call the ambulance and do an immediate surgery. Supposedly it was pretty close to bursting, thankfully they laser beamed it in time.

Having appendicitis must have sucked, but at least it was cute!

Especially right before the surgery, where one of the nurses told me there was a 5% chance that I could die during the process. The surgeon actually scolded him for that.

Also had my tonsils removed back in the Soviet Union when I was around 4 or 5. I actually vividly remember the ordeal - they strapped me to a chair, didn't bother to anesthetize me (iirc), and proceeded to put various metal tools into my mouth to remove it. I remember coughing/vomiting blood after. Not pretty.

Eh, even a ruptured appy isn't THAT bad. Nothing surgery and antibiotics can't fix. Men are such babies, lol.

I was told if it ruptures, it can spread throughout the surrounding area and elsewhere. Not sure if that's true, though, but sounds pretty scary. I wouldn't want pieces of my appendix floating around in my chest area and shit.

edit: LOL "pieces of your appendix" don't float around in your chest area. The danger is in the bacteria being released into the abdomen and potentially causing sepsis. Most of the time, ruptured appy's are just treated with a few days in hospital on IV antibiotics. Just depends on the patient.

Ok, I don't want any of that.

But yeah, I had to stay in the hospital for only a day, in my case. I couldn't pee in the beginning and was threatened to have my urine extracted with some penis machine if I wasn't able to pee. Luckily my perseverance enabled me to eventually do so. Now a pee machine is fucking scary, dude.

All I'm saying is it isn't that big of a deal on the scale of life threatening abdominal/GI problems requiring a hospital stay and potentially requiring surgical intervention. Blowing it out of proportion like a lot of men do, cause they are babies.

Honestly when that doofus told me there was a 5% chance that I could die during the surgery, I didn't give a shit..I just told them to hurry the fuck up and take out my damned appendix cos of all the pain I was experiencing.
