ATB in my opinion, although I liked Ayla, also as part of Intrance and Elastique Culture.
But ATB also was part of Sequential One with Woody.

ATB was my gateway when I lived in Germany, so he definitely has my vote.

The single "Let U Go" especially got me into all things electronic music-related (dreaded euro dance, then trance, progressive trance, house, etc).

Ayala, I really haven't heard much from him. I prize having a copy of his "Nirwana" album (Liebe, Angelfalls, Dreamland, can't forget those tracks). After 2000, the last thing I ever heard/seen was the "Sun Is Coming Out" music video, nothing else.

"Liebe (Orjan Nilsen Mix)" by Strobe, that was a decent track (trying to capture that magic?) from 2010 on a side note.

I've got tons of both in my collection but I'd say Ayla, though I prefer his work under the Tandu alias. His remixes were always very original and well thought out. This is a personal favorite of mine.
