New Audio: Obama Tells SF Chronicle He Will Bankrupt Coal Industry

"So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted."

does Obama say anything to anyone to get elected, or is he indeed a radical?

if you can answer yes to either of those two questions with certainty...or even if you can't...he does not need to be the President.

in other radical Obama news:

"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

because there is nothing as of yet, next year or even the next decade and presumably longer that can sustain 40% of the North American electrical grid and our appetite for steel...and he sure as hell isn't going nuclear.

Even if that's true, it just leads to the conclusion that this is a non-issue. If demand goes up or stays the same, and there is no alternative, then the price of electricity will just go up to pay for any surcharge. It's hardly a threat to the industry...

it's a non-issue if we're talking in terms of generations or even decades but as far as i can tell he's not. every indication is that he want's to do this now or sometime within his term regardless of the short term effects or our current capabilities.
