I'm Catholic, so this it's the annual Church-a-polooza this weekend... get my feet washed tonight, venerate the cross and eat some fish tomorrow, then hold a candle and listen to countless readings Saturday. Sunday we'll get the kids high on bunny delivered sugar and have dinner with my family.
Somehow I love Easter.

My day wasn't very good, more like bad Thursday.
Brussels bombings of course still rule the news and came close as Brussels is a little over an hour drive. My US colleague and my boss flew from Zaventem to Newark last Friday. My boss should have returned today but went to Frankfurt in Germany. His car still is in the parking at the airport in Brussels.
Stupid Belgians, sorry to say, but started border control at the highways creating a lot of useless delays and traffic jams. Everybody with half a brain knows they won't find anyone or anything as there are countless easy ways to cross the border without any chance of control. Belgian police is a huge mess anyways. Next to that the terrorist probably stays in Belgium, as that's the best way not to get caught.
A Dutch brother and sister who called home at the time of the bombing to tell that they arrived well at the airport still are missing. The line got cut off during the call. They live in New York, but most likely they are among the victims.
Then this morning I drove to work after dropping the kids at school. At one point I had to wait at a crossing to turn left. I had to wait as because of parked cars and cars coming from the opposite direction. Out of nowhere suddenly a car overtook me at the left. The car had to stop as the road was blocked by a car coming from the opposite direction. Then the passenger door opened, a young woman fell out of the car, jumped up and ran towards my car. She opened my door and jumped in my car very upset and started begging me to drive off. I looked at the left and saw a big athletic muscled guy running towards my car, running around the front towards the door where she entered. I drove off before he could grab the door.
It still feels all of this happened in like 5 seconds.
She, I think she was like 25 years old, said after she brought her son to school and came home he suddenly was in front of her, knocked her down, took her by the throat and dragged her in his car. He was her ex, the father of her son. She immediately called her son's school telling not to hand over here son to anyone.
As I didn't know if the guy would follow us I wondered where to drive to. The police station was like a 10 minutes drive with traffic lights, so I decided to drive to my work which was just few minutes away. Arriving there she was cooled down a little, just a little and asked me to bring here to her boyfriend, who worked in the area, so I did. I dropped her off and they immediately went to the police station. She thanked me for driving off several times, already in the car as well as God knows what he would have done to her.
Back at work I told my colleagues and eventually I did call the police as well, told the story and got called back twice during the day.
I didn't feel well all morning, many thoughts crossed my mind like what if my car would close doors automatically, would I have unlocked them and what would have happened if I didn't. I guess having the doors not locked in this case turned out well and for sure saved her from whatever would have happened.
Then this afternoon we got the sad news our best football player ever Johan Cruijff suddenly died although we knew he was fighting against lung cancer. But last news was things started to look better for him and treatment worked out well. The Netherlands and the Barcelona area in Spain and many fans all over the world will remember the number 14:
R.I.P.

That's quite a story sounds like an action thriller movie (except for the part where you have sex with the girl at the end).
Got my car back today. The dealer said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Started the next day. They recommended removing the remote starter that was installed by previous owner. I thought I could remove it myself but when I looked at it I realized I couldn't. It has a million wires tied into the wiring harness under the steering wheel. Now I need to find a competent place to remove it without causing another problem.

Enjoy it man. The Basilica I go to is far for me these days, so I doubt I'll be going now that I think more about it, but we'll see.
