Work Christmas party this evening. It's a sit-down meal followed by the thrilling prospect of Elton John and Robbie Williams impersonation acts. I've also only been with the company for four months so still barely know a lot of people there, which could get awkward. Frankly the whole thing promises to be completely shit, so I'll either bail early or anaesthetise myself with alcohol from the open bar and vomit all over my MD's pinstripe suit. Probably the latter. |
This is a quintessential slice of UK company life, and along with the tabloid culture, it's one of the things I'm so grateful I'll never have to experience again.
I went to maybe three or four of these things during my career in London and they were all like this; people you don't really know but are being forced to socialize with, bad music, bad dancing and mediocre food with people you already spend 40 hours a week with. Please vomit over his pinstripe. Do it for the c0r.
