It'd be nice to believe the two formats can coexist. REs will always integrate into the rack better, with dedicated controls, system-based undo and integrated CV and audio whereas VSTs will need to be manually mapped but have the benefit of a greater market.

I can't imagine a single developer would continue support for the RE format when they already have a VST version. The RE's are apparently a complete pain to code AND Reason take a financial cut.
I was like, does anyone still use reason, but obviously they do.
Then Richie chimes in with more bellbottoms/good fro, and I'm like OK, some things are timeless.
I bet the devs are equal measure of pissed and releaived that RE's are no obsolete. I'm sure props gave the devs a heads up but imagine if you've been working for a year on your RE version and they drop this. fuuuuuuuuuuuuu
