Shinola seem more like a branding company to me than an actual manufacturer. I know they bang on about how great their engineering is etc, but they're very much positioning themselves as a GQ mens brand.
I suppose they might crack the nut of making a superb pair of headphones, but when Sony makes some of the best that can be bought for $300, I'd love to know how they managed to make better ones which justify a price tag of more than twice that of a pro audio company.
