Kraviz was playing at that moment and there was a small crowd huddled around the window staring at her. I peered in for a moment, but you can’t hear anything out on the street, so I said something to the effect of “What’s the big deal? You can’t hear what she’s playing.” One bearded wanker breathed, “Oh, she’s easily the best. She’s the whole reason I’m here.” Clearly she inspires that kind of cultish reaction in certain people, although I can’t see it myself. There seem to be a few female DJs around at the moment who play high tempo, pseudo-old-school techno and prance around a lot behind the decks, all ripping off Ellen Allien’s shtick from 15 years ago. |
Yeah, I've heard similar stuff about her and it is always from the same kind of people.. I respect everyone's taste, and don't want to discuss it, but when you don't even hear whats shes playing and you talk about it that way... Meh..
Totally agree with Ellen Allien reference.
