bookies in australia and england should start taking bets on what test;

1. Warne will bowl each batsmen in one innings.
2. Mcgrath breaking someones head.
3. In what test (or tests) England will have to bat on.
4. What year england will end up being bowled out for 0 runs in an innings.
4. What year england will end up being bowled out for 0 runs in both innings.

lets have a look.......
1) The UK is a fairly small place, finding cricketing talent is difficult
2) It's no longer a popular sport, which makes finding new talent even more difficult
3) We can only actually play cricket for 2 months of the year, I believe you lot can play all year round
4) We've been seriously unlucky with injuries (Gough, Jones, Vaughn, Flintoff...)
5) We've not had enough time to acclimatise to the conditions, 3 warm up games isn't enough to get ready for those conditions
please take thos factors into consideration

The Australians play football under different rules. I believe their games are only 80 mins long, in four quarters rather than two halves (please correct me if I'm wrong). They also have some variations on pitch size and so on too.

The English are rubbish at cricket because this nation's religion is football, and nothing else matters to anyone.

All but the posher schools have given up on it, just like rugby. We were barely ever even introduced to cricket in all my school years, I think at the most we played it for a few weeks, and it kept raining which made the game crap as people were slipping all over when they went for runs and getting knocked out unfairly, then the weather would clear for the other side giving them a huge advantage. Games of rugby had to stay in posher schools because in state schools they just become a bloodbath! Also for that you need more eqpt and space. Wheras a game of football can take a lot of rain and still be a good fair game. All you need are a couple of jumpers for goalposts and a ball for a few quid to play football, and there are bloody hundreds of variations on the game to suit any environment. You can play football on a 20 metre strip of grass, play penalties in your back garden, have a kick-around in the street if it's not on a busy road, or go to a nearby field and have a full sized match. Then there are variations on the rules to adapt to the playground, such as 'pass and shoot', and different rules for indoors (5-a-side). Why else do you think football has become the most popular sport in the world ever? Because whether you live in the slums of Calcutta, the dodgy streets of Brixton, or a fancy estate in Beverly Hills, all you need is a ball and a little imagination and you have a game that can last for hours, with any number of people. With cricket you need a bloody huge field to play it on and we simply don't have the space in the UK.

I don't think the English like sports with so many interruptions either, we like games with a continuous flow of play. American sports are full of interruptions and distractions (cheerleaders and pretzel salesman would be glassed to death in the UK for ruining the game, and people just won't stand for an irritating loudspeaker, wor crowds want to make our own noise). All that time while the bowler rubs the ball across his cock and runs up to bowl, then the batsman just blocks it. It'll be another 15 seconds before the next piece of "action" where it'll just be blocked again.

They say cricket is so tiring because you're "standing on your feet for hours". I think that says it all really!

Also, our neighbour nations don't like cricket either, so all the English hooligans wouldn't have any cities to smash up.

The English might have invented cricket but that was just a bunch of toffs fannying around in their countryside 'manor'. It's always been considered a sport for the upper classes - if you look at the towns in England that play it like Durham, they're all 'nice' areas. Just like tennis and rugby (which I believe were also invented by the English - but not the working classes). The one sport that we are truly proud of giving to the world is football, we might not be great at that internationally but we have probably the most exciting football league in the world. We don't need cricket, or anything else for that matter, we're happy as we are

Cricket is far more popular in Australia. State cricket is a far better way of bringing through quality youth, and your cricket schools of excellence and facilities are much better.

England are a poor test outfit, and i don't think they will even trouble Australia in the rest of the series. I feel sorry for Simon Jones who has genuine pace and definatly looked promising, then typical he goes and gets injured.

Our selection evolves around favouritism relating to what county you play for. our weather certainly doesn't help, it seems like a pathetic excuse, but you surely wouldn't believe how wet it is over here even in Summer. Batting on soft, slow tracks all the time then playing on WACA just doesnt help. We usually get away with it in the sub-continent because the wickets are slow.

Anyway, cricket can be boring at times, but i'd recommend anyone to go watch, getting pissed all day in the sun
