Ha, that's the place. They had a corkage deal so we brought our own bottle and paid a fiver corkage. The wine list does look pretty impressive though.
I'd highly recommend going to one of their London branches if you haven't already. Perhaps the best steak I've had in this country. |
Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Yeah, I've been lucky enough to visit four of their London branches, hah. There's actually one less than ten minutes walk from my flat. At 'happy hour,' before and after the main supping hours, they have some very reasonably-priced specials in their bars, like hamburgers and steak sandwiches. Probably beefsteaks that were no longer at their prime, but still damn tasty. A pretty cheap but reliable place to take a girl on a date, I found, when I was single
When my mother is in town I try to get her to pay for an actual supper there, though, haha. Maybe the best steak I've had anywhere! Definitely the best Sticky Toffee Pudding I've had anywhere.
I have their cookbook, too, actually (or their first, at least; I think they have a second now). I highly recommend it! History, meat, seafood, sides, desserts, and cocktails.
Now I'm curious: where, in the world, have you had better steak?
