Igor Lalin - Exit Neoplanta [progressive trance] (2020) original mix

Hi guys,

As before I mixed and mastered this track using headphones only - HD650. Sonarworks and CanOpener3 were implemented to mimic the studio speakers.

Enjoy!

Hey markuszxc1,

It's not 100 % necessary if you are used to the HD650 sound. In my case I was an early adopter of Sonarworks but it made a minor difference.

I'd rather go with CanOpener3 since it is a night and day difference. It really sounds like flat studio monitors when using this plugin. I use both, since Sonarworks corrects the sound for a more linear headphone response and CO3 mimics the speakers with its excellent algorithm.
Then you can hear the center properly. Just listening to the headphones without correction, the mono bass and kick are about 6 db quieter. I always mono the mix to 200Hz, since big club systems are mono anyways. Also, phones, tablets and small speakers work well with this too.
I checked the mix twice on my Bose TV sound system (far from professional setup), to make sure that bass is correct, and it was. Just make sure to make your mix really tight. It helps immensely.

Cheers,

Igor

Thanks Igor. Ive been using headphones probably for 3-4 years so sonarworks might not give me any benefits but Canopener3 I need to check it - I haven't heard about it to be honest. Cheers!
